Welcome

Welcome to St. Mary's Primary School Website.

I am delighted to introduce you to our new informative website and to invite you to discover more about life in St. Mary's Primary School.

St Mary's is situated in the townland of Derrytrasna, on the southern shore of Lough Neagh.

In our school we are committed to providing an excellent all round education for every child entrusted to our care. We aim to provide a caring school environment where each individual child is encouraged to respect themselves, others in the school community and the wider community.

I hope you enjoy visiting the different pages of our website and seeing the opportunities available to our children.

🌿 **Thank You!** We are deeply grateful to Portadown Wellness Centre for rejuvenating our school grounds! The children loved getting involved, planting shrubs, and transforming the space. A special thanks to Alan McDowell for his dedication and hard work. Here’s to more green-fingered fun! 💚🌸
🥊 Well done to Jace Scullion who competed in the Mid Ulster Boxing Championships this week! Jace has been training incredibly hard and his dedication really showed. As an added highlight, he had the amazing opportunity to meet current world champion Anthony Cacace and former two-time world champion Brian Magee. A brilliant experience all round — congratulations, Jace, and keep up the fantastic work! 🥊
Huge congratulations to Ava Greene and her Hip Hop Dance team, Littlestreets, on taking 1st place at the Ulster Hip Hop Dance Championship! Amazing talent, hard work, and passion on display—well done to the whole team! 🕺
🏃🏻‍♀️We completed it! A huge congratulations to our amazing school staff who completed the Belfast Marathon yesterday! Your dedication and teamwork were truly inspiring—and all for a great cause. Thanks to your efforts and the generosity of our community, we’ve raised an incredible £1,715 for our wonderful school. We are so proud!🏃‍♂️
Primary 3, 4, and 5 have been busy building their problem-solving skills. They explored tasks that developed their logic and reasoning skills. It’s been great to see their confidence and teamwork grow!
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our recent bag pack at Asda! Thanks to your generosity, we raised £302.46 — and we’ve already put it to great use by purchasing new outdoor equipment, just as our amazing bag packers requested! 🙌👏
Well done to our boys and girls who played in the recent North Armagh league blitz in Aghagallon
